The Northerly path passes through a deer fence with a 1m wide latched gate. South-westerly path passes through a narrow kissing gate. Surfaces vary from wide cut vehicle 'rides' to unsurfaced footpaths.

BBQs are a fire risk, endangering other people and the precious wildlife and habitats here. They are not permitted on the reserve at any time.
No defined nature trails and no paths managed by the RSPB. The reserve map (on fixed signs at the reserve), shows suggested routes around the site.

Surfaces vary from wide cut vehicle 'rides' to unsurfaced footpaths. The ground underfoot is natural and often soft.
No educational facilities on site. We welcome small group visits to Garston Wood. The reserve does not have any on-site staff to welcome the group, but there is a map in the car park. The car park is small, and only able to accommodate eight cars, please consider this when bringing a group.

There are no formal viewing points here. As there is nowhere to shelter, we recommend you dress appropriately for the weather. There are a number of resting benches, without arms or backrests, positioned around the reserve.
Restrictions
We ask that dog owners keep their dog on a lead when visiting the reserve. Please pick up after your dog, take waste away with you and dispose of in a dog waste bin.
Assistance dogs are welcome in all parts of the reserve.
