Our car park is open daily, dawn-dusk. 8 spaces 2 Blue Badge spaces Additional blue badge parking is available close to the visitor centre. Please contact us for details.
Our small car park is near the village of Hallbankgate. It is unsuitable for coaches. No height restriction. No lighting.
Single accessible toilet with large space to side and hand rail. Toilet located adjacent to the visitor centre, the toilet is around 30m down a shallow slope from the blue badge parking spaces.
Our toilet is open and located adjacent to the visitor centre, one mile from the car park.
You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on your visit. We have two picnic tables in the information centre garden.

A screen at the tarn is accessed over pasture which is level but soft in wet weather with no ramp and no steps.
Five trails. They are generally uneven tracks and grassy paths through farmland with some muddy patches, some trails are steep in places. Occasional obstacles and some seating. Some of the trails pass through land grazed by cattle.
Guided school visits can be arranged on request. Indoor space available for small groups.

BBQs are a fire risk, endangering other people and the precious wildlife and habitats here. They are not permitted here at any time.
Tea and coffee making facilities available. We don’t have any food available to purchase here. The nearest places for food are in Hallbankgate, just one mile away.
Restrictions
Dogs are welcome but we would request that they are kept on a lead, as the reserve is a working farm.
Assistance dogs are welcome in all parts of the reserve.
