Our car park is open daily in line with the below times and it is closed and locked outside of these hours using an automatically-operated gate.
1 November - 31 January: 5am - 6.30pm.
1 February - 31 March: 5am - 8pm.
1 April - 30 August: 5am -10pm.
1 September – 31 October: 5am - 8pm.
The car park has 120 spaces of which 5 are Blue Badge spaces. 2 additional Blue Badge spaces are available within the reserve, close to viewing platforms and viewing facilities.
These are accessed with a RADAR key. RADAR keys can be borrowed from the Info Point.
No overnight parking or camping is permitted. There is no height restriction barrier.
Please be respectful of other visitor access, our team and our neighbours by not parking on the road, verges or in gateways, as it causes an obstruction for residents and emergency services.
Bicycle racks are available close to the car park.
Our toilets are open daily in line with car park opening times.
They are located in a separate block near to our Information Point.
Our baby changing facilities are located in our accessible toilet near to our Information Point.
The Main Track and Reedbed Trail, Waltons Screens and Tor View Hide are pushchair accessible.

There is no visitor access into to the takeaway refreshments.

You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on your visit. Our main picnic area is located in the Mini Marshes (near the car park).
We have six picnic tables and one bench in the Mini Marshes Picnic area. There are a further three picnic benches in the Old Education Area just past the Memorial Otter and we have a number of other benches around the reserve.
In the Mini Marshes picnic area near the car park there are four picnic benches with wheelchair spaces and two without. The three picnic benches in the Old Education Area do not have wheelchair spaces.
We run an exciting programme of guided walks and other events throughout the year.
We have 2 hides, 2 viewing platforms and 8 screens in total. Viewing platforms, hides and screens are usually open dawn to dusk.
Three viewing screens accessed via 200 m Boardwalk Trail from the Blue Badge parking places, each featuring lowered slots and moveable benches; one on Loxtons Marsh Trail and one on Walton Heath Trail accessed via grass paths. Two raised hides.
The Tor View hide is accessed by 130m path from the Boardwalk Trail. The Avalon hide is accessed by a 670m rough grass path trail from the canal bridge after the first viewing platform.

More than 3 miles (5 km) of trails, all with regular seating. Main track is wide and raised hard surface, and is a local cycle path. Ham Wall Loop has bike gates to prevent access to motorbikes, but wide enough to accommodate most wheelchairs.
Wider bikes and PMV’s can bypass the bike gate near the Ham Wall car park by using the boardwalks. Alternatively, a RADAR key can be used to unlock the vehicle gates next to the bike gates to gain access.
Ham Wall Loop: 2 miles (3 km), takes about 1.5 hours, circular walk from the car park following scenic rough grass trail along Glastonbury Canal. It crosses the canal via a bridge to return along the main reserve track.
Walton Heath Trail: 1 mile (1.8 km), approx. 40 minutes, of rough grass track.
Loxtons Marsh Trail: 0.75 mile (1.3 km), approx. 30 minutes, of rough grass track. May be wet in winter.
Boardwalk Trail: 200 m circular recycled plastic boardwalk, leading to three viewing screens. Wheelchair accessible with bench halfway along.
Our play area is located just off the Reedbed Trail. There is a reedbed climbing frame and a children’s viewing tower.

BBQs are a fire risk, endangering other people and the precious wildlife and habitats here. They are not permitted on the reserve at any time.
Restrictions
Dogs are welcome on the public footpaths around the nature reserve.
Please keep to the designated rights of way only, with your dog on a short lead due to the sensitive wildlife here.
The Reedbed trail, Waltons Heath trail and Loxtons Marsh trail, are not public footpaths, so no dogs are permitted here except assistance dogs.
Dogs are welcome on the Ham Wall Loop apart from the path to the Avalon Hide.
A dog water bowl is available at the car park info point.
There are no dog waste bins on the reserve, we ask that you take the waste home with you to dispose of.
