The cafe is situated on the first floor. Accessed by internal staircase with handrail on one side (left as you ascend) or external ramp with 1:35 gradient. We serve delicious freshly made scones, cakes, soups and lunch dishes, and great coffee.

The shop is on the ground floor and stocks gifts for adults and children, books, bird food, wildlife care and a range of binoculars and telescopes.
Wide, gently-sloping paved / rolled hardcore path leads from visitor centre to grassy picnic area. Two benches with space for wheelchairs.
Binoculars are available for hire from our shop.

There are three hides on the Wetland Trail which are reached from the visitor centre by the fully accessible path and underpass.
The large Gillman hide is family friendly and has a window in the door so you can see inside before you enter.
The Waterson and Carden hides are smaller and quiet, ideal for some serious birdwatching.
An accessible viewing screen in picnic area allows close-up views of birds using feeders, and the café has a wonderful view across the Loch.

Wildlife Garden, close to visitor centre, accessed by wide, gently sloping and surfaced path. Woodland Trail has a series of steep steps and can be muddy.
Wetland and Loch Leven Heritage Trails reached from the visitor centre by a fully accessible sloping tarmac path and underpass. After the underpass the Heritage Trail and Wetland Trail are surfaced with rolled stone.

Sleeping Giant Path is an invigorating 7km hill walk with some steep sections, which climbs up over Benarty Hill and on to Lochore Meadows Country Park.

BBQs are a fire risk, endangering other people and the precious wildlife and habitats here. They are not permitted on the reserve at any time.
Restrictions
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the visitor centre and cafe. A tap and water bowl are available in the visitor centre courtyard.
Assistance dogs only in the hides.
Dogs under close control, preferably on a short lead, are allowed on all trails on the reserve in line with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. This is particularly important during the bird breeding season April - August. Please pick up after your dog and dispose of any bags in bins or take it home.
Assistance dogs are welcome in all parts of the reserve.
