We have a temporary toilet (portaloo) in the car park over the summer. At other times, the nearest facilities including a RADAR accessible toilet (Mon-Fri and Sat morning) can be found in Back Lane car park, Rochford, 7 miles away. Visit their website for details

Marsh Flat Trail runs for a 4.5km loop near to lagoons and around the grazing marsh; there is also a shorter 1.5km loop near to the lagoons. This trail is also unsurfaced grass path. Access to Caroline’s Hide via Marsh Flats Trail and then New Pool Trail is fully surfaced with a mix of granite toppings and concrete, and a very short stretch of cockleshell by the entrance itself.
There are benches throughout the reserve.
We have 1 hide and 4 viewpoints, open daily, in line with nature reserve opening hours. Caroline’s Hide is open along New Pool Trail overlooking Fitzroy and Darwin Lagoons.
A raised area provides seating and good viewing overlooking both Grass Farm Lagoon and Acresfleet Lagoons.
Another raised area provides seating and good views to the south of Grass Farm Lagoon.
A shelter is located at the eastern end of Allfleets Marsh Trail and another is situated at the south end of Jubilee Marsh trail.
We run several guided walks throughout the year.

We don’t have any baby changing facilities here.
BBQs are a fire risk, endangering other people and the precious wildlife and habitats here. They are not permitted here at any time.
There is no visitor centre at this reserve. Visitors can simply enjoy exploring the trails, admiring the scenery and experiencing nature all around you in this relaxing setting.
We don’t have any refreshments available to purchase here. The nearest refreshments are in Essex Marina 2 miles away, Canewdon village 4 miles away or Rochford 6 miles away.
Restrictions
Dogs are welcome on the public footpath (Allfleets Marsh trail) but none of the other trails.
There are no dog waste bins on the reserve, we ask that you take the waste home with you to dispose of.
Please keep your dog on a short lead and under control at all times, due to the sensitive wildlife, habitats and livestock here. Dogs aren’t permitted on guided walks, except assistance dogs.
Assistance dogs are welcome in all parts of the reserve.
