What's here? at Bowling Green and Goosemoor
Available on site
Our hide is open at all times. The Lookout is open on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10am-4pm.
We are reliant on volunteer staffing so there may be times when we open late or close early.
The Lookout has hot and cold drinks for purchase, as well as ice cream and cake.
The Lookout is open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10am-4pm (and some Wednesdays if we can get volunteers).
You are welcome to bring a picnic with you to enjoy on your visit.
Our picnic area is located next to the hide with one fixed picnic bench. Help keep this place safe and special for wildlife and people by taking your litter home with you.
No shop facilities on-site, however nearby RSPB Dart's Farm has a fantastic selection of gifts and equipment for the nature enthusiast.
Binocular Hire
We run an exciting programme of guided walks and other events throughout the year. Please see the ‘Events and Activities’ tab for more details of upcoming events and how to book.
Our hides and viewpoints are a great place to spot the special wildlife here and offer outstanding views over the reserve.
Bowling Green hide and Lookout are designed to be accessible to wheelchairs. There is a Blue Badge bay immediately outside.
The Clyst viewing platform is accessed by a 130m path surfaced with compacted stone. There are then shallow steps only up to the platform and there is no seating here.
The platform offers panoramic views over the estuary and a good variety of wildlife is seen as the tide rises and falls.
No public access to lagoon and grazing marsh. Short track (130 m) at the south end of the marsh leads to the estuary viewing platform, providing wide views of the confluence of the River Clyst with the Exe.
180 m loop of footpath around the southern boundary of the reserve from viewing platform back to the road.
Pushchair and wheelchair access should be available for the hide and Lookout, but not the Clyst viewing platform.
