The reserves are linked and accessed by a linear public footpath (part of the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths path), each approximately 0.75 mile (1 km) mile in either direction.

The path is grassy, uneven in places, narrowing in width to 0.9m in places. It can be wet and muddy depending on the time of year and weather conditions.

The only significant gradient is gentle slope up and down to the seawalls at either reserve (approx 5m rise over 3m).
