What's here? at Cwm Clydach
Available on site
Car park situated in the village of Craig Cefn Parc, close to the New Inn public house on the B4291. 12 spaces. Tarmac surface. No lighting. No height restrictions.
Two walks along the trail, which follows the river from the car park along the bottom of the steep-sided valley winding it's way north.
From the car park the trail follows the river north along a flat compacted stone surface, which while flat is a little uneven in places. After just under a km, the path reaches a footbridge over the river.
At this point you can continue past the bridge and reach the other end of the reserve after about 400m, where the footpath continues up the Clydach Way beyond the reserve, or you can simply return to the car park the way you came.
The other option is to cross the footbridge and follow the circular trail through woodland above the river on the other side which brings you back to the bridge. This trail is unsurfaced for much of it's route, can be muddy, and is very steep in places. Appropriate sturdy footwear is required.
