PARTIAL RESERVE CLOSURE
For Health & Safety reasons during works to replace MoD runway landing lights on the Valley Wetlands Reserve, the visitor trail and footpath from the main Llyn Penrhyn car park will be CLOSED on week days from 7 November until 7 January and there will be no access from the car park.
The path should usually remain open on weekends and bank holidays but this will depend on work schedules.
The reserve remains accessible along the footpath from Llanfairyneubwll to the East and Ffordd Cerrig Mawr to the North (see map).

A public footpath & section of permissive path run through the reserve and are open access at all times.
For part of its length it is a stoned track; the remainder is a mixture of unsurfaced, stony & gravelled. There are sections of uneven ground and it can be muddy (or even shallowly flooded) at times. Stout walking boots recommended.
It is not suitable for wheelchair access or pushchairs.
There is a short steep climb up natural rock steps to the main viewpoint which is 270m from the car park.
Natural viewpoint approached via a short (5 m) slope with uneven rocky ground/natural steps. This is 300 m from the car-park.
Seating with back and arm rests available on the knoll. As there is nowhere to shelter, we recommend you dress appropriately for the weather.

BBQs are a fire risk, endangering other people and the precious wildlife and habitats here. They are not permitted on the reserve at any time.

Restrictions
The reserve is managed as a safe home for breeding birds, so please keep dogs on a lead at all times. This nature reserve is an important place for wildlife.
Assistance dogs are welcome in all parts of the reserve.
