Nature’s here – be part of it

You can discover nature reserves all across the country – from Shetland to Orkney, the Outer Hebrides to Islay, and from the most northerly point of mainland Scotland to the most southernly.

Our nature reserves are unspoilt worlds where nature is restored, protected and can thrive. Whichever you choose to visit, you’ll experience unforgettable wildlife moments. Watch Ospreys soar overhead, spot Red Squirrels scurrying through the trees or sit and watch a myriad of insects enjoy the scents and colours of the coastal machair.

Open to everyone

Nature needs everyone, and here at RSPB Scotland we want to ensure as many people as possible can access our amazing spaces.  With this in mind, we have highlighted five of our key reserves for accessibility above. If you have any specific requirements for your visit, we would always encourage you to get in touch and speak to our friendly staff.

Doing your best for nature

In Scotland, you have the right to access the great outdoors on most land and inland water if you act responsibly and follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.  At our reserves, we ask visitors to help reduce wildlife disturbance and damage to these important locations. You can help do this by sticking to the paths provided, keeping dogs on a short lead or close to heel, taking away litter, following any local guidance and taking extra care during times of high fire risk.
